Earthworks for commercial and industrial sites

Send your brief

Good earthworks give every later stage a safe, stable platform. Whether the next step is a new service yard or an access road, the ground needs to be at the right level and properly prepared.

Our in-house teams plan the work clearly and carry it out with modern machinery and surveying equipment.

Why clients choose us for this work

The same people survey, plan and build your job, and your site keeps running while we do it.

  • Ready for the next stage

We form the site accurately so the drainage, concrete or surfacing that follows can start without rework.

  • Our own machinery and surveying kit

Earthworks are carried out by our in-house teams with modern plant and surveying equipment, not handed to a third party.

  • Practical with spoil

On a Rochdale manufacturing site, excavated material was compacted on site rather than taken away, which kept the site clean and cut out heavy waste runs during the works.

  • Part of a full groundworks package

The same team can carry on with drainage, retaining walls and concrete, so there is no gap between contractors.

Concrete yard repairs and drainage upgrades
All the feedback we've had from site has been really positive. I've also got to give credit for how you have managed some of the on-site issues that required making design changes on the fly. This showed great pragmatism. As always, it's a pleasure working with PKB on this project.

Common questions

Can't see your question? Call us or send your brief and we'll come back to you.

Send your brief
Do you use your own crews and plant?

Yes. Groundworks, drainage, concreting and surfacing are delivered by PKB crews using our own equipment. That means one point of contact, one programme and one company accountable for the finish.

What happens at a free site survey?

We walk the site with you and assess ground conditions, drainage, loading and access. You get a safety and compliance review, a budget and cost analysis, a phasing and maintenance plan, and recommendations specific to your site. There is no obligation to proceed.

Can you carry out the works while our site stays open?

Yes, and most of our work is done that way. We phase the works so vehicle routes, deliveries and pedestrian access stay clear, agree the sequence with your site team before we start, and keep the working area swept and separated throughout.

Do you only work on commercial sites?

Yes. We work only on commercial and industrial sites: external concrete yards, service areas and access routes at recycling facilities, ports, manufacturing plants, transport depots and builders merchants. We do not take on domestic or small private works.

Do you travel nationwide or just locally?

We work on commercial and industrial sites across the UK and regularly travel for larger yard refurbishments and repair programmes. Each project location is assessed on scope, scale and programme.

Got a yard that's holding you back?
