Concrete contractors for commercial and industrial yards

Send your brief

We deliver concreting across the UK in some of the toughest yard environments, from ports to recycling facilities. The job might be a small repair, a reinforced machine base or a full service yard.

Our own teams manage quality, safety and the programme. We plan around your operations and control the project from survey to completion, which is how we have worked since 1986.

  • Slabs designed for your loading

We survey every site first and design the slab around your vehicle weights and ground conditions. For HGV yards that typically means at least 200mm of reinforced concrete with A252 mesh.

  • Phased pours on live yards

We split the programme into sections so you keep access to part of the yard at all times, and agree the sequence with your site team before we start.

  • Laying concrete since 1986

Over 40 years of concreting on working industrial yards, for some of the biggest industrial businesses in the UK.

  • Our own crews and plant

The people who survey, plan and pour are PKB's own team.

Common questions

Can't see your question? Call us or send your brief and we'll come back to you.

Send your brief
How thick should a concrete yard be for HGV traffic?

For yards handling HGVs and heavy plant, we typically specify a minimum of 200mm reinforced concrete with A252 mesh. The exact specification depends on your vehicle weights, ground conditions and how the yard is used, so we survey every site and design the slab to suit.

How long does it take to concrete a commercial yard?

A typical commercial yard takes two to six weeks depending on size and scope. We give you a fixed programme before work starts and phase all pours around your operations so the yard stays accessible.

Can you concrete our yard while we stay operational?

Yes, this is what we specialise in. We phase every concreting programme into sections so you keep access to parts of the yard at all times, and plan it around your day to day operations. We have been concreting on live industrial sites for 40 years.

How much does it cost to concrete a commercial yard?

Cost depends on scope, ground conditions and access. We survey for free and give you a fixed price before work starts.
